Business Development Manager
You’ll grow Apex’s client base among structural steel fabricators, starting in Texas. You’ll reach out to fabricators, understand what they need, introduce our detailing and connection design services, and work with our project managers to turn conversations into projects.
What you’ll do
- Identify and reach out to steel fabricators, estimators, and project managers, starting with the Texas market.
- Explain Apex’s services and value in terms fabricators care about: accuracy, turnaround, responsiveness, and checking.
- Qualify opportunities and coordinate quotes with our project management team.
- Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat work.
- Keep accurate records of outreach and opportunities in our CRM.
- Represent Apex professionally by phone, email, and at industry events.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in sales or business development, ideally in steel, construction, or a related technical field.
- Comfort talking with fabricators, estimators, and project managers.
- Clear, confident communication by phone and email.
- Self-motivated and organized; able to manage your own pipeline.
- Familiarity with structural steel, detailing, or fabrication is a strong plus.
Nice to have
- An existing network among steel fabricators or general contractors.
- Understanding of the steel detailing process and terminology.
